The responsiblities of the Employee‘s Council include the economic, social, health and cultural interests of the employees and achieving a reconciliation of interests for the benefit of the employees (as far as possible without disrupting operations). In order to fulfill these responsilities, the Employee‘s Council have a number of participation rights (§ 89 - 112 ArbVG).
The Employee's Council provides the following services:
We represent the interests of the scientific university staff!
We represent the interests of the academic university staff in discussions and negotiations with the rectorate and its subordinate departments, through participation in the university council, in numerous committees and working groups within the university.
We advise and intervene for our colleagues!
We are available for consultations primarily in matters of service law, but we also support our colleagues in inter-university conflicts and intervene on their behalf and in their name if necessary.
We inform the scientific university staff!
We regularly inform the scientific university staff in university news, in the newsletter and in events. We also provide our colleagues with useful links on our intranet site.
We provide services!
We offer a range of financial benefits, from the Business Ticket for discounted travel on ÖBB in cooperation with ULV) to special offers from various providers and health advice, such as the health videos produced by the Employee‘s Council "Physiotherapeutic balancing exercises" (e.g. "Loosening the shoulders"; more videos can be found on the intranet under Health videos).
The Employee‘s Council continuously optimizes the offer on its platform and regularly informs colleagues about new actions in the university news of the Karl-Franzens-University Graz.
